CHOOSE YOUR MOMENTS - Part Two

Whether you are with your partner in the living room, dancing at the bar, or competing on the big stage, country swing is more fun and dynamic when we let certain moments shine (over a consistent baseline). Come learn how to create these moments, how to coordinate them with your partner, and where to put them in your dance.

Sunday Focus – When and where do we let our moments shine?

Not every moment in country swing needs to be emphasized. Let’s choose our moments wisely, and in coordination with the music.

SCHEDULE

12:00pm-1:30pm - Lower Country Swing -Match musical intensity with movement speed.

1:30pm-3:00pm - Lower and Upper Country Swing - Use timing to anticipate and respond to medium and major intensity changes.

3:00pm-5:00pm - Upper Country Swing - Emptiness with Direction – leads create structure of the moment (direction, rotation, and timing), and follows respond with the quality of the moment (momentum, level, and length).
